Billy's Brother by AADI

ADS

book cabinet

A hybrid between a traditional bookshelf and a sculpture.

The shelves are displaced and the playful meening between the floor and the wall creates an interesting expression. Billys Brother is like a map over Johans life in the time of the development. Torn in different directions but still making something great out of it. Another nice feature are the inclination of the shelves, giving the impression that the books will fall off but instead they hold the books much better than an ordinary

The Beautiful Game - 11

ADS

The Beautiful Game

'11' is a collaboration of two companies - GRO design and Tim modelmakers – each contributing their world-class specialist skills to this showcase project.

The football table is named after the amount of players on each side. The term 'the beautiful game' is often used to describe football/soccer and is the title of Pelé's book "My Life and the Beautiful Game".

For many of us, table football is a game that is close to our hearts, holding cherished memories of our childhood and youth. Its popularity also reflects the passion and love that millions of people around the world share for 'the beautiful game' of football.

Many new football stadiums built in recent years have a strong architectural and sculptural beauty, becoming city landmarks in their own right and enhancing the visual landscape of the local environment. We wanted the design of our football table to be equally spectacular and memorable, enriching the interior space where it will be placed.

11 - the beautiful game is currently under development.

birdhouse

Gary Cruce designed Nest for his own back-yard, the next logical progression is a companion called Feed.

Nest birdhouse: Nest is designed to accommodate common cavity-nesting birds such as chickadees, house sparrows, wrens, and swallows. A natural structure of bentwood and laminate gives this birdhouse a light-hearted yet sophisticated form. Harmonious proportions and sensible detailing make Nest a modern pleasure for your home.

Feed bird feeder: Welcome songbirds into your garden with a beautifully refined bird feeder. The natural allure of bentwood and clear windows attracts a variety of birds that are commonly found in every back-yard. Easy to fill and maintain; an over-hanging roof keeps birdseed dry and fresh. The innate elegance of Feed and its open design, encourages relaxation and enjoyment.

Handmade from the waste left over from Bambu's cutting boards and solidware pieces, Bamboo Pebbles are reminiscent of smooth, well-worn river rocks. The rounded organic shapes, natural grain and golden tones make a wonderful display. And their packaging is nice too.

Napkin Art

Another fun idea from Kouichi Okamoto of Kyouei Design. Frame napkin is just a normal napkin with a photo frame printing on it. The great part is after the meals, the stains you left on the napkin will look likes a framed art.

Please don't be afraid of staining.
After meals, you can enjoy your "today's special" art.

Dragon's Tail by Luisa De Los Santos Robinson

ADS

Dragon's Tail

Design by Filipino designer Luisa De Los Santos Robinson, a member from Movement 8 ( a consortium of Philippines' most innovative designers), Dragon's tail floor & hanging lamp is a result of glowing creations form of nostalgic childhood games and memories of dragon stories. An intertwining of simple materials with calculated execution.

Dragon's Tail Lamp

Luisa is an advocate of modernism and clean designs. She is nimble and prolific and her designs are marked by lightness and grace. She brings an air of unnerving aplomb to everything she creates. Her designs are mostly inspired by organic shapes and the different characteristics of the natural materials she chooses, and the end result is something so pure and simple yet totally unexpected. The lines she creates are clear and crisp so that even the materials of choice are a determining factor. Luisa puts emphasis on materiality, on the substance in design inherent in a material which leads to a synthesis of form and function, or an enhancement of both.

Dragon's Tail is currently produced by HIVE, a design and manufacturing facility where various designers can create objects for production under one roof.

Fire & Ice Coffee Table by EcoSmart

ADS

Fire & Ice Coffee Table

The Fire & Ice Coffee Table features an open fire set within a freestanding coffee table. On one end, a recess for your flue less EcoSmart™ Burner, on the other, a recess for storing your own patch of grass or perhaps ice to chill your favourite bottle of champagne.

Fire & Ice Coffee Table

Made of anodized aluminium with a fine linish, the EcoSmart™ Fire + Ice Coffee Table features a sliding platform which, when moved from one side to the other, either exposes the EcoSmart™ Burner or your patch of grass depending on which side the platform sits. When the platform is moved to cover the burner, the cover also serves to automatically turn the burner off.

More importantly, no installation or building works is required. Ideal for apartment owners where space is limited, and very popular with tenants who would like ambient heating that moves when they do.

Cloud Room by Monica Förster

ADS
Cloud Room
k, this is not new anymore, but worth a mention here. The Cloud is designed by Monica Förster. Cloud is the portable room for meeting, resting and concentrating. A room easy to transport from place to place. A quiet fan keeps Cloud inflated as long as needed. The room is installed in three minutes and can be folded up in the accompanying bag when deflated. Not recommended for outdoor use.

Whenever I've been travelling in airplanes, I have wondered how it would feel like to be inside one of the clouds outside the window. This is how I got the idea for the Cloud portable inflatable room. I started to make research about the cumulus cloud, which is the happy weather cloud.

In the morning moisture rises up in the sky and form cumulus clouds – towards the evening they dissolve and disappear. That's exactly how I would like my room to work. When you come to the office in the morning, you Inflate the room, and when you go home for the evening you deflate it and it disappears.
